Battlefords and area residents will see a spectacular site this week as natural gas is flared from 40 foot tall stacks.

The gas is being burned from a pipeline that runs from Battleford to the Red Pheasant First Nation.

TransGas spokesman Casey MacLeod says the gas has to be burned off so work can be done on the pipeline.

MacLeod says the flaring will be done today until 7 p.m., Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
