Bears Spotted at Waterhen

People at the Waterhen Lake First Nation are keeping an eye out for bears after several have been seen in or near the community this summer.

One person even had an encounter with a large black bear in his own home.

Armand Fiddler says he came home the evening of August 24th and some children told him about the unexpected visitor.

Fiddler says a lack of berries has driven bears to look for other food sources and some end up in settled areas.
