A new bridge to future prosperity has been unveiled at the English River First Nation.
Last week the band officially opened the new structure which connects the existing reserve with a patch of land immediately north.
Chief Ralph Paul explains they’ve needed new land for housing for some time now.
However, there is a lot of muskeg surrounding the main community along with some rocky soil.
He says the new bridge is over a hundred feet long and stretches north to untapped land.
He says the band used some of its Treaty Land Entitlement money on the project.
