Canoe Lake Residents Can Earn Degree at Home

Residents of the Canoe Lake Cree Nation can now earn a university degree in their home community.

An agreement has been reached with the University of Saskatchewan to deliver ITEP classes leading to a Bachelor of Education.

Canoe Lake band councillor Richard Opikokew says in the past, band members have struggled to get an education in the city.

Opikokew says the program has been specifically tailored to include local culture, language and lifestyle.
