The chief of the Flying Dust First Nation says he’s optimistic a deal the band signed with an Alberta oil company will bring benefits to his people.
Jim Norman says oil and gas development is the main target of the partnership between Flying Dust and Braveheart Oil.
The two sides will be working together in an area near Stoughton, which is in the southeastern portion of the province.
Norman says a lot of oil has already been discovered there and his band is just trying to tap into the industry.
He adds training opportunities will be made available to members of the First Nation so they can apply for jobs down the line.
