The FSIN is responding to recent media reports surrounding how much it costs to operate the board for the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority.
Vice-Chief Morley Watson met with media today to answer questions.
He says some people may say the board spends a lot of money, but he notes that SIGA has expanded over the years.
Watson says SIGA may have spent a lot of money, but says it has also earned a lot of money, and says that money has made its way back to communities.
Initially when asked, Watson indicated Vice-Chief Dutch Lerat was in charge of the SIGA portfolio, but later issued a correction, noting he was in charge of it.
He says Lerat has assured him verbally that he has withdrawn his lawsuit against SIGA.
