The English River First Nation is preparing to hold elections for chief and counselors.

However, a familiar face will not be returning to the political battle.

Incumbent chief Ralph Paul has apparently decided to retire.

Running to replace him are Bernadette Eaglechild, Alfred Dawatsare, Margaret Reynolds, Gordon Tcho and Jimmy Wolverine.

Meanwhile, over 30 people are running for six councillor positions.

The election will take place on October 27th.
