A man is recovering in a Fort Qu’ Appelle hospital room after being hit in the head with a beer bottle on the Muskowekwan First Nation.

RCMP say the incident occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday morning in the beer gardens of the rodeo ground.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the All Nations Healing Hospital where RCMP learned he had also sustained a stab wound to his abdomen in addition to cuts on his face.

He was later transferred to hospital in Regina due to extreme blood loss.

The victim’s injuries are not considered life threatening.

A corporal with the Punnichy Detachment says they’re still trying to sort out what happened and charges could be laid once they piece together the chain of events.
