RCMP Arrest Man Carrying Rifle In Meadow Lake

A man was taken into custody yesterday after allegedly wandering through Meadow Lake carrying a rifle.

The RCMP sent officers to a ditch on Highway 55 near the Meadow Lake stockyards at around 8 a.m. yesterday to investigate the complaint.

Traffic was halted in all directions, and the man was arrested without incident.

RCMP say the gun wasn’t loaded, but the man did have amunition with him.

At last word, the Mounties were still determining whether charges are warranted in this case.

The man’s name has not been released.
