Representatives from the University of Regina were in La Ronge last night to meet with community leaders.

Vianne Timmons is the school’s president and vice-chancelor.

Timmons says officials from the town, NORTEP and Northlands College were part of a round table discussion.

She says the local officials shared their concerns, which include classroom space — but the pressing issue right now is student accommodation.

Meanwhile, Timmons says she is pleased with progress being made at the First Nations University of Canada.

She says enrolment has “turned the corner” and is starting to increase after declines in recent years.

Timmons adds University of Regina officials will be making another visit to La Ronge next spring.
