Earnings are up at the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority.
CEO Zane Hansen says through the first six months of this year, SIGA’s net income is five per cent higher — or $41 million — than the same time last year.
He believes the increase is consistent with growth being seen throughout the province.
Hansen explains one of the reasons SIGA publicized the figures earlier this week is because it wants the public to understand some of the positive things happening at the gaming authority.
SIGA’s board of directors has been making headlines in recent months over the dismissal of board chair Kirk Goodtrack, who alleges he was let go because of his spending reform agenda.
