A 21-year-old man from the Ahtahkakoop First Nation who had been at large since being charged in connection to a fatal fire on the reserve was apprehended by police without incident in the community Friday night.
Carl Anthony Albert is facing two counts of second-degree murder in relation to the deaths of William Ahenakew and Trez Sparvier-Scott, whose bodies were found in the remains of a burned-out home last Monday.
Albert has also been charged with the attempted murder of a four-year-old who was pulled from the burning home by a witness.
Last Wednesday, police arrested 24-year-old co-accused Kimmy Randall Bear, also of the Ahtahkakoop First Nation, after a standoff at a reserve residence.
Another suspect, 19-year-old Ahtahkakoop resident Dominic Chase Ahenakew, was arrested earlier in the week and is due to make his next court appearance next month.
