The CEO of SaskPower says his corporation doesn’t have an acceptable procurement program for the Aboriginal community and he plans to change that.
Yesterday, Bob Watson told a Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business luncheon in Saskatoon that SaskPower is developing a plan to outline how it will better work with the Aboriginal population.
Saskatoon Tribal Council Chief Felix Thomas says SaskPower, and other corporations, need to figure out how to target youth as more and more people retire.
Thomas says Watson’s comments are a good “first step” and looks forward to seeing specifics of how SaskPower will engage the Aboriginal community, particularly young people.
