The Friendship Centre in Prince Albert has received thirty thousand dollars to help renovate its building for homeless people.
Executive director Connie Farber explains they badly need the money to spruce up old sections of the structure including the kitchen.
She says there is an increased need for their services and the money is welcome news.
“Capacity has been an issue for a very long time. You know our building is older and really needed some updates to be able to accomodate the numbers because the numbers really are growing. We have a lot more youth hanging around downstairs…”
She adds the centre offers a day program for people during the colder months and it is definitely needed right now.
The dollars come from the Federal government.
