The unseasonably warm temperatures may be leading to a rash of coyote sightings in Prince Albert.
Suzie Stubbs, the bylaw enforcement manager for the city, says six animals have been spotted near the river in the city’s West Flat — four of the animals were spotted yesterday, and two more were seen this morning.
Stubbs notes they appear to be walking in from the bush across the river.
She says in a normal winter, the coyotes will stay in the trees where it’s warmer — but the mild temperatures this winter are changing that.
Stubbs says residents need to be careful while near the river, adding anyone spotting a coyote should call the police department and ask for the bylaw manager.
