A long-time member of the RCMP originally from northern Saskatchewan is hanging up her hat.
Sgt. Linda Guimond, who is originally from Patuanak and based out of the Prince Albert detachment, officially retired yesterday.
Just one of four Dene-speaking officers in the province, Guimond spent many years patrolling communities in northern Saskatchewan.
She says dealing with northerners and helping them out with their problems was the highlight of her career.
A colleague, Cst. M.J. Chuey, says she will remember Guimond for her character and integrity.
She adds Guimond did a lot of work with Aboriginal agencies, as well.
