The province has announced some new northern housing projects.
10 new home ownership units have been announced for Pinehouse.
They will be implemented through the development of a local homeownership program.
Social Services Minister June Draude says she’s pleased with the work the village has done to bring in the extra homes, noting grass-roots participation is a key component:
“In a way it’s working on the same way as the habitat model of housing which gives people a chance to own a home.”
In addition to this a four-plex rental unit is also being built in La Ronge and Draude says six more of the four-plexes could soon be on the way.
