Emergency crews in Prince Albert were called out this afternoon after a pedestrian fell into the North Saskatchewan river.

The incident happened shortly before 2:00 p.m.

Parkland Ambulance says a middle-aged male fell over the retaining wall into the water near the 100 block of River Street East.

Fortunately, another man was able to jump over the wall and pull the victim to safety.

Paramedics say the incident appears to be an accident and both men are in good and stable condition suffering from hypothermia.

They also are asking people to stay off the ice.
