A four-unit rental housing complex for Metis families in Yorkton has officially opened.

The Provincial Metis Housing Corporation was in charge of the project and received about $900,000 from the province.

PMHC General Manager Greg MacLeod says the total cost for the duplex units is about $1.3 million.

He says each unit has five bedrooms and 1,900 square feet of living space.

Targeted tenants are working parents with four or more children.

The homes are located near schools, shopping and other amenities.
