The president of the Saskatchewan Transportation Corporation says the number of people taking the bus in northern Saskatchewan appears to be holding steady.
Shawn Grice doesn’t have exact numbers, but figures ridership is about the same.
Over the next few months, the Crown corporation will look closer at its provincial routes to determine if any moves are needed.
He says STC will look at a couple of key ingredients when it comes to individual routes:
“Well, there’s a number of factors you’d look at, but utilization and the financial costs to provide service obviously would matter.”
The company recently released results for 2011 and declared it to be a successful year.
