The Vice-Chief of the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples will be touring western Canada.
Dwight Dorey’s tour kicks off in Winnipeg Tuesday.
He skips Saskatchewan altogether — going on to Edmonton, Yellowknife, Calgary and Vancouver.
Dorey says that doesn’t mean Saskatchewan’s voice won’t be heard.
He says he heard a lot of input from Saskatchewan people at a March policy conference:
“We had a three-day session with participants from Saskatchewan and talked about a lot of these issues that are important to people at the community level: health, economic development, employment, training, and the list goes on.”
Dorey says he wants to learn first-hand from Aboriginal people what the off-reserve issues are in the West.
