Conditions are ripe for forest fires in the province.
About 35 are burning right now, and 20 of them have started in the last day or so.
The weather is not helping matters. The current heat wave is drying things out and lightning strikes are igniting new fires daily.
The province’s forest fire coordinator, Brent Krayetski, says the lightning strikes have been widespread.
So far this season, there have been nearly 200 forest fires in Saskatchewan — but none have posed any threat to communities.
