Saskatchewan Health is warning people to take precautions to protect themselves from health effects that may be caused by poor air quality in parts of the province.
The government says air quality is expected to deteriorate over the next couple of days due to wildfires in northern Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories.
Environment Canada says parts of northern and west-central Saskatchewan are getting “widespread smoke” today.
The Ministry of Health is advising people with athsma, respiratory or heart conditions to remain indoors — and to keep their windows closed.
Even healthy residents are being urged to reduce strenuous outdoor activity.
Saskatchewan Environment is monitoring the air quality throughout the province.
