The public is being invited to attend a gathering at the Muskoday First Nation this week to discuss ways to encourage healthy Indigenous living.
The three-day event is sponsored by Kookums and Mooshums Against Drugs and Alcohol.
The purpose of the event is to draw attention to what drugs and alcohol are doing to the community.
Co-organizer Lenora Crain says there will be a number of speakers, as well as sessions with elders:
“To network and just to support one another and to let each other know that their community is not alone. I think by going this route, the elders are there to support everyone, as well.”
Crain says a community walk will also be held.
The gathering began this afternoon at the reserve’s Veteran’s Memorial Park.
