An evacuation at the James Smith Cree Nation is now over.

Nursing manager Rey Lindain reports that all 201 evacuees have since returned to their homes.

He explains flood waters have gone down enough for people to get through the major roadways:

“There’s still a bit of water in some roads, but all major arteries have been restored to their normal working conditions.”

He adds they are still not sure if a boy, who had to be flown to hospital with a shigella infection, got the illness from drinking the water on the reserve or somewhere else.
