Inmates at the Prince Albert Correctional Centre have ended their hunger strike.
Last week a handful of prisoners quit accepting food after they were confined to their cells for 23 hours a day.
The jail defended the move — saying the clampdown was necessary so it could conduct searches inside the unit the men were in.
A spokesman with the Ministry of Corrections says the inmates agreed to finally eat after their free time was bumped up to 90 minutes a day outside their cells.
