A desire to learn more about her Aboriginal culture may take a Prince Albert girl all the way to Ottawa in December.

Charmaine Gamble is one of 30 finalists across the country in an online Canadian history video contest.

At the start, 200 people were entered.

In her video, Gamble covers everything from the significance of medicine wheels and pow wow drums, to the use of sweetgrass in ceremonies.

Gamble is hoping her video will help other Aboriginal youth learn more about their culture:

“Some people, they think they know who they are — they think that they know everything in their culture.  But once you study it, you know you’re not completely sure of yourself after that.”

Judges will now choose six winners from across the country. In December, those winners will go to Ottawa and show their videos in a national history forum.
