A Vancouver man who chained a copy of the Indian Act to his body for a cross-country walk completed his trek on Parliament Hill today.
Leo Baskatawang started out on his “March 4 Justice” on April 23rd.
Baskatawang says his demonstration was intended to symbolize how First Nations peoples have essentially been imprisoned by this piece of legislation.
He adds it demonstrates their “collective enmity toward this document . . . and its future erosion” by dragging it across the countryside.
