Environment Canada has extended a wind warning to include parts of northern Saskatchewan.
Weather forecasters says winds of 100 km/h are possible this afternoon in the Ile a la Crosse, Buffalo Narrows, Beauval — while the La Ronge area could see winds of 90 km/h.
Strong winds could also hit Prince Albert, Duck Lake, Tisdale and Nipawin.
The winds will also be accompanied by rain in many locations.
SaskPower spokesman Tyler Hopson says a number of prolonged outages were reported in North Battleford, Cumberland House, Emma Lake and Buffalo Narrows earlier today — and they were probably weather-related.
Electricity has since been restored to North Battleford, Emma Lake and Cumberland House.
At last word, SaskPower said power in Buffalo Narrows would be “on and off for the rest of the day”.
