There was some excitement on the Onion Lake Cree Nation yesterday as Eagleview High School was locked down.

The precautionary measure was taken after RCMP received reports of two youths with a firearm near the school.

The call came in at around 3:00 p.m.

RCMP say members of the local detachment made a patrol and located two teenaged boys in a nearby home with a small pellet gun.

The teens, aged 17 and 16, were taken into custody — but it’s not known if any charges will be laid.

Investigators say there were no shots fired from the pellet gun, and no one was injured.
