The trial for Red Pheasant Cree Nation Chief Stewart Baptiste has been postponed to next August.

Baptiste faces charges of drunk driving and refusing a breathalyzer.

His trial was supposed to be held yesterday in Biggar — but it was postponed, due to a mix-up in communication.

Some of the parties involved thought Baptiste’s trial would be held later in the year in North Battleford.

As a result, a couple of witnesses were unavailable.

The Crown and defence have agreed to hold the trial next August in Biggar.

The charges stem from a wedding in Biggar in October, 2010.
