RCMP say they have begun a homicide investigation after the discovery of two bodies in a residence on the Standing Buffalo First Nation.

Mounties say they came across the victims at around 4:50 a.m. today while responding to a complaint of people possibly being injured.

The RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Section are assisting with the investigation — as are traffic reconstructionists, a police dog service and the Office of the Chief Coroner.

Police say they are just in the preliminary stages of the investigation and no further details will be released, including the names of the victims.
