Mounties are investigating a fatal crash near Big River involving a moose and a truck.
Just after 3:00 this morning, officers attended the scene on Highway 55, about 35 km north of the community.
RCMP say it appears the truck was travelling south when it hit the animal, rolled into the ditch and caught on fire.
The deceased driver was discovered still inside the vehicle by a passing motorist.
An autopsy is set for later this week.
So far, no details have been released about the gender, age or identity of the driver — but MBC has received word the victim is a man with ties to Turnor Lake.
