The Saskatchewan Indian Equity Foundation says it wants to help First Nations entrepreneurs get their business projects off the ground.
The group’s general manager Terry Brodziak says he thinks many young First Nations entrepreneurs have great ideas, they just don’t know how to get started.
That’s why effective strategies on how to get properly set up are so important.
Today in Saskatoon the group is hosting its yearly business symposium.
Brodziak says they want to improve the economic chances of people with big ideas:
“That’s exactly it. We’ll take them from point A to point B and we’ll make them look at the big picture and then be able to provide them with the assistance that they need to get started.”
Dr. Manley Begay of Arizona is the keynote speaker.
He launched the Harvard Project over a period of 25 years which aimed to determine which factors created the most economic success for Indian communities.
