A new on-line system goes into effect this week.
Energy and Mines minister Tim McMillan says it is light years ahead of the way claims have been made in Saskatchewan for decades.
McMillan expects the new on line mapping and claims system will increase interest and improve the accuracy of mineral permits, claims and leases in Saskatchewan.
Mineral exploration expenditures in the province totalled about 325 million dollars this year.
