Saskatoon Police say they are still waiting for a formal complaint regarding allegations of a “starlight tour” on Monday night.
Early Tuesday morning a woman phoned police claiming a 19-year-old man had been dropped off outside city limits by an officer and forced to walk home in frigid temperatures.
Saskatoon Police Chief Clive Weighill says he is aware the man has been in contact with the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations special investigations unit but would like him to come forward to police as well.
Police say their global position system indicates no cars were located outside the city at the alleged time of the incident and there is no record of a police computer check of this individual at this time.
An official at the FSIN made this response in regards to an email inquiry as to if the organization’s special investigations unit had indeed received a complaint, “As a matter of policy, the FSIN Special Investigations Unit does not release information on matters brought to its attention.”
