Some students from northern Saskatchewan attended a forum in Prince Albert this week aimed at showing them how to become entrepreneurs.
Motivational speaker and musician Troy Payne says it all starts with an idea and from there a business plan can develop.
He encouraged young people to be goal-oriented and to think about how they can make their project happen.
Payne says creating a successful venture all starts with an idea.
“Yeah exactly, once we have that aspiration, dream or goal in front of us, it’s a matter of opening ourselves up and really being able to identify what are the steps to make it happen,” he says.
Payne adds it doesn’t matter where you come from, a little perseverance and a sound business plan can take you a long way.
As part of the event, some awards were handed out and the kids also played a round of “Lemonade Stand” to learn the value of marketing.
