Métis musician Donny Parenteau is leading the way at this year’s Saskatchewan Country Music Association Awards with 10 nominations.
Parenteau, who is from Prince Albert, is nominated for awards in a number of different categories including male vocalist of the year, fan’s choice entertainer and Aboriginal artist of the year.
He says the road to success as a professional musician is certainly not an easy one but for Aboriginal artists just starting out, the key is to just stick with it and the rewards will come.
The SCMA awards take place April 25-28 in Saskatoon.
