Charges have been laid against one person after about $7,000 worth of liquor was seized south of Black Lake.

RCMP say a vehicle was pulled over and searched on the Athabasca seasonal road around 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Corporal Larry Kurtenbach of the Stony Rapids detachment says northern residents can do their part to help police catch bootleggers.

Kurtenbach says the alcohol shipment, believed to be headed to Black Lake, included 63 26-ounce bottles of whiskey and 44 cans of beer.
