For many it will be the trip of a lifetime.
Thirty-one high school students from northern Saskatchewan will take part in a marathon field trip.
They will be riding a bus all day Sunday and arriving at the student residence at the University of Regina later that night.
After that, they’ll spend two days learning about government and the history of the province before looking at careers and touring the U of R and the First Nations University of Canada.
It’s all part of the Youth Mentorship Program.
Program coordinator Gwen Jacobson says it’s a real eye-opener for the students.
“This program is about teaching kids about the history of the province, but also about government and careers in the public service.”
The high school students come from schools in Buffalo Narrows, Cumberland House, La Ronge, Montreal Lake, Pinehouse Lake and Stanley Mission.
They will spend two days in Regina before heading back next Wednesday.
