Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a man charged in relation to a shooting death that occurred on the Yellow Quill First Nation over the weekend.
Thirty-eight-year-old Dorinda Machiskinic was found fatally shot at a private residence on the reserve on Saturday.
RCMP have charged 61-year-old Charles Bighead with second-degree murder and Corporal Rob King says because of the nature of the crime, people should be cautious if they see Bighead.
“Given the nature of the charges right now, there is a strong belief he may be armed,” he says. “Members of the public should not approach him but if he is spotted, they should contact their local RCMP detachment or Crimestoppers.”
Bighead is described as five-feet and ten inches, 225 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, of First Nations descent and was last seen on Thursday driving a red Chevrolet Cavalier in the Fishing Lake area.
