A First Nations election has caught the attention of Northern Saskatchewan’s MP.
Rob Clarke issued a press release yesterday calling for the chief and council at the Ahtahkakoop First Nation to work with the membership to address some apparent concerns.
Clarke says a petition was recently delivered to his office with 400 names of residents who are concerned about certain aspects of the upcoming election:
“Well I’m hoping that the chief and council that is currently in place will be able to meet with the 400 concerned individuals that signed the petition and hopefully start a consultation process with them.”
No one from the band was immediately available for comment.
