A man from the Muskoday First Nation has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Cody Walker appeared before a judge at Queen’s Bench court in Prince Albert this morning, where the sentence was handed down.
He pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter in the death of 36 year-old Ricky Bear.
His body was discovered in a remote area, south of Prince Albert, in the summer of 2011.
The judge gave Walker credit for time served though, meaning he will spend just eight years and 85 days in actual prison.
Another man, Wayne Douglas Moshenko, has also been charged in the case.
His trial is set for September 16th to October 18th.
