A 19 year-old woman from Witchekan Lake First Nation is facing impaired driving charges after being pulled over on the weekend.

RCMP say that on Saturday, around 6:30 a.m. a vehicle was spotted by patrol officers on Highway 40 in the RM of Douglas.

Blaine Lake Mounties say the vehicle was clocked travelling 176 km/HR in a 100 km/HR zone.

During the traffic stop the driver was arrested and taken to the Blaine Lake Detachment.

Other charges laid against her include dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and various traffic offences.

The driver was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
