Red Pheasant First Nation Chief Stewart Cody Baptiste was fined a total of $1,500 today for dangerous driving and failing to appear in court.
He is also prohibited from driving for three months.
That sentence was handed down today in North Battleford Provincial Court.
The matter stems from an incident at a wedding in Biggar in 2010. Baptiste was charged with drunk driving and refusing a breathalyzer.
A trial was supposed to be held today on those charges. But a plea bargain was arranged between the Crown and defence. That resulted in guilty pleas to charges of dangerous driving and failing to appear in court.
