Police have laid charges against a former nurse at the Sandy Bay Health Centre.

Michele Marie Moore, 49, was dismissed from her job by the Mamawetan Churchill River Health Authority in July 2012, for allegedly overcharging on “callback” related hours.

Sandy Bay RCMP Constable Mackenzie Turner says she now faces a number of fraud charges.

“Seven charges of fraud have been alleged, they are under $5,000 and that’s for claimed callback overtime that were allegedly fraudulent,” he says.

Police have issued a warrant for Moore’s arrest who is believed to be living in Nova Scotia.

RCMP laid the charges on Saturday after an investigation that began in April.
