A fire near Fond Du Lac that began on July 5 continues to burn away.
The Helmer Fire measures 33 kilometres by 10 kilometres and is still not contained.
Scott Wasylenchuk is the manager of the provincial fire centre for the province.
He says they are paying close attention to the fire on the east side where it has put some values at risk.
“There’s values spread out on several sides of the fire actually,” he says. “Our crews have put up sprinkler systems and they’re on standby and some are at the site”
Fortunately, he says, there is a 60 per cent chance of showers Saturday, so they’re hoping the fire will begin to die down.
