Correctional Service Canada is confirming that a man died while in custody at the Saskatoon Regional Psychiatric Centre on Saturday.

Elmer Kiseyinewakup, 63, was serving a two-year sentence at the psychiatric centre.

Tim Krause, an official with CSC, says the death is under investigation but foul play is not suspected.

“It was not related to any single incident and it followed the patient suffering from a lengthy illness,” he says.

Kiseyinewakup had been previously convicted of operating a motor vehicle while disqualified.
