The Saskatoon Salvation Army will be hosting its second annual New Year’s Dinner at the White Buffalo Youth Lodge tonight.
The meals take place at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. and are open to all regardless of income.
Salvation Army spokesperson Heather Hedstrom says there are usually a number of public meal options for those less fortunate during the holiday season, but things tend to drop off a bit in the New Year.
“We do find in Saskatoon, and many other communities, there is a need year-round, not just at Christmas,” she says.
The dinner is sponsored by the Murray and Audrey Neufeld Charitable Foundation.
