A former teacher at the Moosomin First Nation’s Day School charged with numerous sex crimes was back in a North Battleford courtroom today.
The issue at hand was who will pay for legal representation for 69-year-old Morris David Hryniuk.
The Prince Albert man is facing charges of indecent assault from eight different alleged victims between 1964 and 1969.
Hryniuk’s initial application for a legal aid lawyer has been denied and it now must be decided if he will be allowed to represent himself.
Representatives from Battlefords Victim Services will discuss the matter with the alleged victims before moving ahead.
Hryniuk is due back in court on Feb.13.
